HOW TO OBTAIN A LOCAL TITLE

And today's topic is...

Why would I want a Local Title?

Many women enter pageants for different reasons; it is a personal choice for each woman. Although it is NOT a requirement of the Mrs. America Organization to have a platform to become a contestant, we encourage women to voice their opinions on issues about which they feel passionate. A local “celebrity” can use her title to make a difference in the community.

There are numerous organizations and causes throughout the States of Connecticut and
Rhode Island.

WE HAVE ALREADY MADE A DIFFERENCE…..NOW YOU CAN TOO!!!!!!!
Local titles offer invaluable experience and insight into what it truly means to be a state representative.

Having a local title is an excellent way for you to:
1. Make appearances within your community
2. Support local charities and organizations important to you
3. Learn more about your area and state
4. Experience the lifestyle of a potential Mrs. Rhode Island America or Mrs.
Connecticut America!
5. Once you have met and COMPLETED the requirements to be an official contestant, you may now be eligible for a County/Township/City title.

NOTE: To receive a local title, you must be an official contestant in the Mrs. Connecticut or the Mrs. Rhode Island America Pageants.

....AND TODAY'S QUESTION IS:

Do you need to spend $$Thousands on a gown? The answer is CATEGORICALLY NO! In the twenty years Elaine and I have been involved in pageants we have seen that an expensive gown is NOT necessarily, a ticket to the crown. Several years ago, in a national teen pageant, the winner wore a $39.95 gown from K-Mart and won the NATIONAL title!! Granted this may be an exception BUT, in most cases a several hundred dollar gown will suffice. Of course, the "gown people" will beg to differ here but the fact remains: YOU DO NOT have to spend thousands of dollars on a gown to win. You must, however, present whatever you are wearing as professionally and beautifully as you can. The way you 'CARRY" yourself in the gown is the most important factor. The judges have been instructed to vote for the contestant IN the gown and not the gown itself. After all, when you win, the pageant and its gown sponsor will see to it that you are well prepared for nationals without spending you life's savings on wardrobe!! Plus, you will get some pretty nifty pieces to add to your collection, for FREE!

To your success...
